For this reason, we compiled a list of mini recipes you can serve your kids after school or on a weekend afternoon.

Recipe number 1: Delightful hummus toast

Everyone loves hummus especially kids! To end up with a nutritious snack in 10 minutes, spread a spoonful of California Hummus Tahina on toast slices. In a bowl, combine chopped tomatoes, chopped cucumbers, crumbled feta and chopped parsley. Toss ingredients to combine then add on top of hummus toasts. Your children will love this snack especially after coming home hungry from school!

Recipe number 2: Tasty mashed fava beans toasts

Kids need energy in order for their body to grow. This said, you need to present them with nutritious snacks that are loaded with protein and fibers especially before study time. Brush slices of bruschetta bread with olive oil and bake them in a preheated oven at 180⁰C for 5 minutes. Top with California mashed fava beans and serve with a slight drizzle of olive oil. It’s one of the healthiest snacks and you can even serve it for breakfast!

Recipe number 3: Mouthwatering cheat pizza

If pizza is among your kids’ favorite meals, surprise them with a quick and easy cheat treat! Simply spread some ready-made pizza sauce on toasts, and then top with sliced bell pepper, cherry tomatoes and California Garden sweet corn.
