How to ease your child’s fasting during Ramadan

Many kids wish to fast during the holy month of Ramadan. However, the process is not easy because the little ones are always active during the day, so they tend to lose more energy than adults. If, as a mom, you’re searching for ways to ease your kids’ fasting during Ramadan, make sure you try the following tips!

1. Put your kids to sleep early

It’s hard for kids to wake up before dawn for suhoor every single day. And just like adults should never skip suhoor, kids should never skip it either. Make sure you put them to bed early so they can wake up and eat suhoor. They will feel a lot more willing to wake up early, and they can spend a smooth day until it’s time for Iftar again.

2. Engage your kids in Iftar preparations

Those few moments before Iftar time are the hardest, especially for children. To pass this time quickly, you can ask them to help you in the kitchen. They can add simple ingredients such as California Garden Whole Kernel Sweet Corn to pizza pasta bake, and toss together salad ingredients or knead pizza dough. They can even help set the table!

3. Ensure your kids are eating healthy

Your kids need to eat healthy yet familiar foods to stay energized and motivated throughout Ramadan. Make sure the Iftar table includes their favorite dishes like shepherd’s pie, turkish baked potatoes, tuna pockets and colorful hummus bowls

It’s a way to draw smiles on their faces while providing them with the essential protein they need and allowing them to go through a smooth fasting period. Ramadan kareem!
