Sometimes the idea of eating plain chicken soup doesn’t really sound interesting. But there are ways you can upgrade it and maximize the flavors! Discover below three different options you can choose to turn your soup into a mouthwatering (and new) comfort food!
Blend in some cream
Cooking cream adds a wonderful texture to many recipes, including chicken soup. Prepare the latter by boiling chicken with spices and vegetables (celery, carrots, onions, parsley). Bring the mixture to a boil, and then simmer for 35-40 minutes. Stir in cooking cream. Remove from heat and let the soup cool for few minutes. Pour the soup into a blender and blend until creamy. Return the soup into the pot and re-heat before serving.
Add a pop of color with corn and peas
Not only do green peas and sweet corn add sweetness and color, but they also work perfectly when you’re reheating leftover chicken soup. Just add 1 can of each California Garden Whole Kernel Sweet Corn and Sweet Peas to your plain soup and cook for around 5 minutes. Now you can dig in!
Make it kids friendly with some pasta
Are your kids picky eaters and usually not so crazy about soup? It’s a good idea to throw in some pasta to make the meal more appealing to them, because kids love pasta; and honestly, who doesn’t?! It’s a one pot recipe that will make everyone happy!
