Ingredients

  • Mutabbaq sheets - 1 pack

  • Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons

  • To prepare the filling:

  • California Garden Red Kidney Beans - ½ cup

  • California Garden Whole Kernel Sweet Corn - ½ cup

  • Egg, beaten - 2

  • Scallions, chopped - ½ cup

  • Leek, chopped - 1 cup

  • Large Tomato, chopped - 1

  • Salt - to taste

  • Black pepper - to taste

Preparation

Step 1

In a bowl, combine California Garden Red Kidney Beans, California Garden Whole Kernel Sweet Corn, eggs, scallions, leek and tomato. Season with salt and black pepper.

Step 2

On your working surface, layer 2 sheets of Mutabbaq sheets, one on top of the other. Add a bit of stuffing mixture in the center. Fold the sides of the dough inwards to get a square-shaped pastry. Repeat until quantities are finished.

Step 3

Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Add one of the mutabbaq pastries and cook from both sides until golden. Repeat until quantities are finished. Serve immediately.
