Bread bowl

Recipe for 2 persons, 10 minutes preparation, 5 minutes cooking

Ingredients

  • California Garden Peeled Fava Beans with Chili – 1 can

  • Cherry tomatoes and Green chili pepper (to garnish)

  • Round white Bread

Preparation

Step 1

Place bread loaf on a hard surface. Slice around the top of the loaf, keeping the knife in an upright
position, until a full circle has been cut. Rip the excess bread from the inside using hands.

Step 2

In a pot over medium heat, place California Garden peeled fava beans with chili and heat for 5 minutes.
Transfer to the bread bowl. Garnish with cherry tomatoes and chili pepper. Serve immediately.

 

Taco bowl

Recipe for 2 persons, 10 minutes preparation, 10 minutes cooking

Ingredients

  • California Garden Peeled Fava Beans with Chili – 1 can

  • Tortilla bread – 2

  • Cherry tomatoes, Pickled jalapenos , Lettuce , Red onions and Cilantro leaves (to garnish)

  • To prepare tahini sauce:

  • Tahini – 3 tablespoons

  • Lemon juice – 2 tablespoons

  • Water – 2 tablespoons

  • Salt – 1 pinch

Preparation

Step 1

Place tortilla bread in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for 1 minute, then repeat for 15 seconds at the
time until the tortilla bread becomes crispy. Repeat with the second tortilla bread.

Step 2

To prepare tahini sauce: in a bowl mix tahini and lemon juice. Add water and mix then season with salt.

Step 3

In a pot over medium heat, place California Garden Peeled Fava Beans with Chili and cook for 5 minutes.
Divide among tortilla bowls. Garnish with cherry tomatoes, jalapenos, lettuce, onions and cilantro leaves.
Drizzle with tahini sauce and serve immediately.

 

Beehive bun

Recipe for 6 persons, 10 minutes preparation, 35 minutes cooking

Ingredients

  • California Garden Peeled Fava Beans with Chili – 1 can

  • To prepare beehive bun:

  • Flour – 2 cups

  • Milk – ¾ cup

  • Sugar – 1¼ tablespoons

  • Vegetable oil – 3 tablespoons

  • Baking powder – 1 teaspoon

  • Yogurt – 1 tablespoon

  • Salt – 1 pinch

  • Instant Yeast – 1 teaspoon

  • Egg, beaten – 1

  • 1 tsp Sesame seeds

  • Feta cheese, cubed – 50 grams

  • Red chili pepper and Bell pepper (To garnish)

Preparation

Step 1

In a bowl, mix milk, sugar, yeast and oil.

Step 2

In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder and salt. Add yogurt and milk mixture. Knead until
you get a smooth dough. Brush the dough with oil, place in a bowl, cover and set aside for 1 hour.

Step 3

Once the dough rests, knead it again for around 1 minute.

Step 4

Create even-sized balls and place in a large dish. Cover and set aside until the balls double in size.

Step 5

Take one ball, spread it into your palm and add feta cheese. Shape the dough again into a ball and place in
a greased 25 cm bundt pan. Repeat until the quantities are finished. Cover again and set aside until the
balls double in size.

Step 6

Brush the beehive bun with beaten egg and sprinkle sesame seeds on top. Bake in a preheated oven at 180
degrees for 30 minutes until golden.

Step 7

Remove the pan from the oven and transfer to a serving dish.

Step 8

In a pot over medium heat, place fava beans and cook for 5 minutes. Transfer to a bowl and garnish with red
chili pepper and chopped bell pepper. Serve alongside the beehive bun.
